When you need one

  • Any event on council land: a fete on a public park, a street party, a market on a footpath, a festival on a reserve.
  • You don't need one on private property. An office car park, a school ground or a backyard needs nothing beyond the booking.

How it works

  • The application goes to the council that owns the land, not a statewide body.
  • Allow two to six weeks. The timing varies council to council.
  • The organiser usually applies as the event holder; we supply the vendor documents the council asks for.
