Two Campuses.
450 Students. One Day.

The Food Hub fed around 450 students across two of the University of Notre Dame Australia's Sydney campuses in a single day, Korean fried chicken and halal snack packs, short window, big crowd.

In short: The Food Hub fed around 450 students across two of the University of Notre Dame Australia's Sydney campuses, Broadway and Darlinghurst, in one day, with Korean fried chicken, halal snack packs and truffle fries.

Key Takeaways

  • A confirmed booking with the University of Notre Dame Australia, through their student association.
  • In August 2026 we fed around 250 students at the Broadway campus and 200 at Darlinghurst, both in the one day.
  • Short hours, big volume, exactly the campus model: Birdman Korean fried chicken, Abu halal snack packs and truffle fries.
  • Halal and vegetarian planned in, so a diverse student crowd all eats.
  • Two campuses handled in the one day. We come to the students, wherever they are.

Built for a Campus Crowd

A uni day is a funny beast. You get a huge rush in a short window, everyone free at once between lectures, and then it goes quiet. That is the exact shape of event we are built for.

Big crowd, tight trading window, food people actually want to line up for. Korean fried chicken, loaded fries, halal snack packs. We keep the menu tight and the crew sharp so the queue keeps moving and nobody misses out before they have to dash to a tutorial.

Two Campuses, One Day

The booking came through the university's student association: two campuses, Broadway in Chippendale and Darlinghurst, on the same day. We fed around 250 at Broadway and 200 at Darlinghurst with Birdman Korean fried chicken, our Abu halal snack packs and truffle fries, a lineup built for a student crowd. Halal and veg were planned in from the start so the whole campus could eat.

The number that matters

Around 450 students. Two campuses. One day. Korean fried chicken, halal snack packs and truffle fries.

Why Student Teams Book Food Trucks

If you run student events, you already know a food truck pulls a crowd and holds it. It turns a quiet campus day into something people actually turn up for, and it takes the catering headache off your plate.

We rock up, set up, cook fresh and feed everyone, then pack down and go. Halal and veg are sorted so the whole student body is looked after. Fully insured, and we work with your venues team on access and any permits.

Start with one campus day and see how it goes. Most teams have us back for the next one.

Catering Sydney Universities and O Week

Sydney is full of campuses, and every one of them runs O Week, open days, market days and welcome events built for a big student turnout. That is our bread and butter.

We can bring a mix of cuisines, cover every dietary need, and move between campuses in a day if you run more than one site. If you are planning a student event, here is how we handle university campus catering, and here is our halal food truck catering for a crowd where that matters.

FAQ

University catering questions.

Do you cater university O Week and campus events?

Yes. O Week, welcome days, market days, open days and exam de stress weeks are right in our wheelhouse. Big crowd, short trading window, and we keep the line moving so students are not stuck waiting between classes.

Can you feed a big student crowd in a short window?

Yes. A single truck comfortably feeds 60 to 600 guests, and we plan the menu and crew around the trading window so the queue keeps shuffling forward. For the University of Notre Dame Australia we are set up to feed around 450 across two campuses in the one day.

Do you cater halal and vegetarian for a diverse student body?

Yes. We plan halal and vegetarian options into every campus menu. We are not formally halal certified, but our snack pack truck runs all halal, so the whole campus can eat.

How do we get The Food Hub on our university's vendor list?

Just get in touch. Tell us the campus, the dates and the sort of crowd, and we will sort the menu, the setup and any access or permits with your venues team so it is easy on your end.
