How much clearance do you need?

The Food Hub's trucks are 3.5 metres tall and 2.5 metres wide, so 3.7 metres or more of overhead clearance and a gate or driveway wider than 2.5 metres is what we're looking for. Overhanging trees and low awnings are the usual catches.

Height

  • 3.5 metres to the top of the truck.
  • 3.7 metres or more overhead is comfortable. Check awnings, boom gates, tree branches and car park entries.

Width and length

  • 2.5 metres wide. Most driveways and gates are fine, narrow rural gates sometimes aren't.
  • 7 to 11.5 metres long depending on the truck, so a sharp turn into a tight yard can be an issue.
