The footprint

  • Width: 2.5 metres for the truck, plus about 2 metres each side for the serving hatch and the queue.
  • Length: 7 metres for the smaller trucks, up to 11.5 metres for the largest.
  • Height: 3.5 metres. Anything overhead at 3.7 metres or more is comfortable.

What makes a good spot

  • Flat and firm. Bitumen, concrete and firm grass are all fine. Soft or sloping ground is a problem.
  • A driveway or gate wide enough for the truck to get through.
  • Room for guests to queue without blocking a road or a fire exit.
