Between the vines

Food truck catering across the Hunter Valley.

The Hunter is two regions in one. Down around Pokolbin and Lovedale it is cellar doors, vineyard weddings and winery events on lawns with a view. Up around Singleton and Muswellbrook it is big workforces, mines and plants that need a proper feed on site. We drive up from Sydney for both, park on the flat, and serve straight from the truck.

We carry our own power, gas and water, so a paddock between the vines or a site with no kitchen needs nothing from the venue. Pick your cuisine and we handle the rest.

Events we do here

Events in Pokolbin, Cessnock and Singleton.

Vineyard weddings

Cellar door lawns and private vineyard properties around Pokolbin, Lovedale and Broke. We set up self contained, feed the room fast, then a late top up when the dancing starts.

Winery and cellar door events

Release days, long lunches and events at wineries that want street food alongside the wine rather than a plated kitchen service.

Mine and site workforce lunches

Big crews at mines, plants and depots around Singleton and Muswellbrook. We park on site, feed the shift fast and sort a simple invoice.

Community and family days

Club days, community events with council approval sorted, and big family gatherings on Hunter properties.

Menus

Menus for vineyards, venues and worksites.

We run four trucks across six cuisines, so there is something for every kind of crowd. Birdman Korean fried chicken, low and slow American BBQ, Abu with all halal snack packs and kebabs cooked over the flame, Tex Mex tacos, Nillas Belgian frites and pizza. Slow smoked brisket next to a Hunter red is a very good afternoon. We also do breakfast as an added offering for an early site start.

Everything on the snack pack truck is all halal, and we can do gluten free wraps on request. Our snack packs are gluten free, though our trucks handle gluten across the menu so we cannot guarantee zero cross contact. We usually get about three orders out every 60 seconds depending on the menu, so a wedding queue or a shift changeover clears fast.

Not sure which truck suits your day? Have a look at the full menu and we will help you match it to your guests.

Pricing

Pricing, minimums and a transparent travel component.

Pricing starts from $18 per head plus GST, all inclusive, with a minimum of 60 guests. Weekend bookings have a $2,500 plus GST minimum. Most events land between $18 and $35 per head plus GST for the catering depending on the menu and event style. The per head rate covers the staff, setup and pack down, with a clear GST tax invoice afterwards.

The Hunter Valley sits well past our free travel line, which runs about an hour and a half's drive from our base in Lakemba, so there is a travel component on top for the trip up and back, and accommodation for long days when needed. We itemise it separately, so you can see the catering rate and travel cost side by side before you book. The minimum remains 60 guests.

A single truck comfortably serves 60 to 600 guests. We add a truck only when you ask, or for events above about 500. Want a feel for the figures first? Our pricing guide walks through it.

Access

Access for vineyards, paddocks and site gates.

Our trucks are 2.5 metres wide and 3.5 metres tall, so a vineyard gate or site entry needs to clear that, ideally with 3.7 metres or more overhead, and we need a flat, safe spot to park at the end of it. Firm grass between the vines is usually fine. The landowner or venue needs to confirm the site can be used for the event. Send us a Google pin of the spot and we check access on the map before the day.

Public or council land, like a park, reserve, street or footpath, needs approval first, so we cannot just pull up on public space and start serving. Our trucks are council approved with many NSW councils and we help with the paperwork, so a public event is still very doable. Tell us where you are thinking and we will check what your spot needs.

FAQ

Hunter Valley questions, answered.

Do you provide food truck catering in the Hunter Valley?

Yes. We bring our cuisine trucks up to Pokolbin, Lovedale, Cessnock, Broke, Singleton and Muswellbrook for vineyard weddings, winery events, workforce lunches and community days. The Hunter is one of the regional runs we know well.

Is there a travel fee for Hunter Valley events?

Yes. Travel is free for any event within about an hour and a half's drive of our base in Lakemba, and the Hunter sits well past that line, so events here carry a travel component on top of the catering rate. It covers crew time, fuel and accommodation when needed. We itemise it separately, so you see the catering rate and travel cost before you book.

What is the minimum for Hunter Valley events?

The minimum is 60 guests. The travel component is quoted separately based on the location and timing, so you can see the full cost before you book.

Can you set up at a vineyard or winery?

Yes, and it is what our trucks are made for. They are fully self contained, with their own power, gas and water, so a cellar door lawn, a barrel hall forecourt or a paddock between the vines needs nothing from the venue. We coordinate access and parking directly with the venue, and we need a flat, safe spot to serve from.

How much does Hunter Valley catering cost?

From $18 per head plus GST, all inclusive, with a minimum of 60 guests, plus the travel component for the trip. Weekend bookings have a $2,500 plus GST minimum. Most events land between $18 and $35 per head plus GST for the catering itself depending on the menu. The per head rate covers the staff, setup and pack down, with a clear GST tax invoice afterwards.

Do you cater mine sites and big workforces around Singleton and Muswellbrook?

We do. Large workforces at mines, plants and depots across the upper Hunter suit a food truck well: we park on site, serve the shift fast and can time service around a changeover. Our corporate mining and resources catering page covers how that runs.

Can you provide halal and gluten free options?

Yes. Everything on our snack pack truck is all halal. We are not formally halal certified, and we are upfront about that. Our snack packs are gluten free and we can do gluten free wraps on request, though our trucks handle gluten across the menu so we cannot guarantee zero cross contact.

How quickly can we get a quote?

Send us your date, rough guest count and where you are in the Hunter, and a clear quote usually comes back within the hour in business hours, with the travel component broken out.
