BUILT FOR A HEADCOUNT THAT MOVES

Food Truck Catering for Mining and Resources Offices

The people in a resources head office are rarely all in the building the same week. We quote on a firm number, plan for it to move, and bring enough on the day that nobody who turns up goes without.

The short answer

Food truck catering for a Sydney mining or resources head office runs from $18 to $35 per head plus GST, all inclusive, with a minimum of 60 guests. We handle the two things that usually decide it: a standing spot the building will actually allow, and a supplier document pack your procurement team can approve without chasing. We accept purchase orders and issue one GST tax invoice. This page is about your office and campus events. For a working site, our construction and engineering pages cover crews, inductions and traffic management.

Constraint one: the number you give us will change

Plan for the headcount to move, and bring extra anyway.

In most offices the headcount you give a caterer on Monday is the headcount that eats on Friday. In a resources business it is often not. People rotate between site and the office, projects pull teams away at short notice, and a milestone lunch can land on a week where half the floor is somewhere else entirely.

So we quote on the firm number you give us, then treat it as a floor rather than a ceiling. On a recent site job we brought extra stock nobody had asked for, purely so anyone who turned up wanting something different could have it. That is how we would rather run your day too: cook to the number, carry a margin, and never be the reason someone walks back to their desk hungry.

Tell us the realistic range rather than a single figure if that is easier. On throughput, a straightforward menu gets about three orders out every sixty seconds, so a crowd that arrives all at once from the same floor still clears quickly. If your people will drift down across an hour rather than land together, we keep cooking between the waves so there is hot food ready whenever the lift doors open.

Constraint two: the tower and the paperwork

Getting a truck near a head office, and a supplier past procurement.

Resources head offices tend to live in the CBD, North Sydney or a suburban campus, and the building decides more than you do. Our trucks are 3.5 metres high, so most CBD loading docks are out. What works is a forecourt or plaza the building controls, a service yard, or a section of an above ground car park. On private property the booking is all that is needed. On a street or footpath the truck needs council approval, which takes time to arrange. Send us a Google pin of the spot you have in mind and we will tell you honestly whether it works before you raise anything internally.

On dimensions: the fleet runs from 7 metres up to 11.5 metres long and 2.5 metres wide. We need roughly 2 metres clear either side to serve, and overhead clearance of 3.7 metres or more is comfortable. We do not go into underground car parks. Every truck carries its own generator, gas and water, so nothing plugs into the building and facilities have nothing to raise.

Then procurement. We hold $20M public liability and can supply a certificate of currency on request. We carry food safety documentation for building inductions and a Working With Children Check where an event needs one. We are GST registered under ABN 30 609 356 005 and a registered supplier on buy.nsw. We accept purchase orders, a 25 percent deposit holds the date, and terms are usually 7 days, extendable to 14. One tax invoice with GST broken out, which tends to be the difference between an approval that moves and one that sits.

No surprises

What you get, and what you do not.

Included in the quote

  • The truck, the crew, the fuel and the cooking gear
  • Setup and pack down, worked around your access times
  • Our own generator, gas and water, so we draw nothing from your site

  • $20M public liability, plus food safety documentation for your induction
  • One event manager from the first quote through to pack down

Not included

  • Alcohol service of any kind
  • Venue hire or booking your space for you
  • Furniture, marquees, staging and lighting
  • Waitstaff and table service, we serve from the window
  • Cleaning beyond our own footprint
  • Council permits where you need us on public land
Start to finish

How a head office booking runs.

1

Send the date, the realistic range and a pin

A firm number with a range around it is more useful to us than a single figure you are not sure of. A Google pin of the standing spot lets us check the approach and the clearance straight away.

2

We send the supplier pack before anyone asks

Certificate of currency, food safety documentation, ABN and buy.nsw registration, in one go, so your procurement team is not chasing us the week of the event.

3

Building management give their sign off

Where a landlord or building manager controls the space, they set the rules. We work to whatever they specify, including arrival windows and where we can and cannot stand.

4

We cook to the number, carry a margin, and invoice once

Set up before your window, serve to order, pack down and take our rubbish. One tax invoice with GST broken out, on terms of 7 to 14 days, with your purchase order number on it.

Proof

Work that shows how we handle a moving crowd.

John Holland, extra stock nobody ordered

220 serves · 2 hour window · booked in 3 days

A construction crew of 220 on their own site, fed from one truck inside two hours, three days after the first message. We brought extra products over and above the agreed menu so anyone who fancied something different could have it.

The result. All 220 fed inside the window, and the extra stock is the part we were proudest of.

Simplot, from shift feeds to a centenary

Kelso and Bathurst · shift teams since 2023 · centenary booked for September 2026

We have fed Simplot shift teams at their regional plant since 2023, working around a site that does not stop. That relationship led to the booking for their 100 year celebration, planned for close to 1,760 guests across two of our larger trucks.

The result. A regional workforce fed repeatedly, and a centenary booking off the back of it.

Samsung, 400 through one window

Sydney Olympic Park · 400 people · one lunch window

Four hundred of the Samsung team through a single lunch window at Olympic Park. A big number landing at once is a run sheet problem rather than a cooking problem, and it was planned that way from the start.

The result. 400 people fed inside one window without the queue getting silly.

FAQ

What office managers and procurement ask us.

How much does it cost to cater 150 staff at a head office?

Most corporate jobs run between $18 and $35 per head plus GST, all inclusive of the truck, crew, setup, equipment and pack down. The rate falls as the headcount rises, and it moves with how many of our four trucks are still free on your date, which is why we quote per event rather than off a table. Send us the date and the number and we will come back with a real figure, usually within the hour.

What if our headcount changes the week of the event?

Tell us as soon as you know and we will adjust. We quote on the firm number you give us and treat it as a floor, cooking to it and carrying a margin on the day. A realistic range up front is more useful to us than a single figure you are unsure of.

Can you supply a certificate of currency and complete our supplier onboarding?

Yes. We hold $20M public liability and can supply the certificate of currency on request, along with food safety documentation, our ABN 30 609 356 005 and our buy.nsw supplier registration. Send us your onboarding pack and we will complete it before the day.

Can a food truck get near a CBD or North Sydney office?

Often, and it depends on the building. Our trucks are 3.5 metres high, so most loading docks are out and we do not go into underground car parks. A forecourt, a plaza the building controls, a service yard or an above ground car park usually works. Send us a Google pin and we will tell you honestly before you raise anything internally.

Do you cater actual mine sites?

This page is about head offices and campuses in Sydney. For a working site with inductions, traffic management and crew breaks, our construction and engineering pages are the right place to start. Regional NSW carries a transparent travel component, and interstate is quoted case by case. Tell us where the site is and we will tell you plainly whether it makes sense.
